Thune Confirms CLARITY Act Vote Before Senate Recess
Senate Majority Leader John Thune has confirmed that a vote on the CLARITY Act will take place before lawmakers head out for their August recess. The bill aims to establish clear rules for the crypto industry in America.
Thune mentioned that the Senate still has plenty of work to do, including passing a continuing resolution and nominations package, as well as implementing Russia sanctions. He stated that these items will be addressed before the break.
The CLARITY Act is currently missing from the official Senate floor schedule, but Thune expressed confidence that it would receive a procedural vote soon. Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, has also spoken out in favor of the bill, calling it 'bi-partisan work to finally establish clear rules for crypto in America.'
