Truth Social's parent company, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), has terminated its plans for a multibillion-dollar cryptocurrency treasury agreement with Crypto.com (CRO).

The decision was made due to 'prevailing market conditions and shifting business and stakeholder priorities', according to the companies involved. TMTG interim CEO Kevin McGurn stated that they wanted to focus on their core operations.

The abandoned plans include a CRO treasury venture announced in Q2 2025, as well as the integration of prediction markets directly into Truth Social. However, Crypto.com's prediction-market products will still be marketed to Truth Social users.

TMTG is now shifting its attention to finalizing an all-stock merger with TAE Technologies, valued at over $6 billion. This deal aims to create one of the first publicly traded fusion companies and advance plans for a 50-megawatt utility-scale fusion power plant in 2026.
