TMTG's Crypto Bets Backfire: $238M Loss as Trump Media Pivots to Enterprise Software

Share

Trump Media & Technology Group reported a staggering $238 million loss in Q2, largely due to the collapse of its cryptocurrency holdings. The company's decision to invest heavily in digital assets during the bull run has backfired spectacularly as prices crashed.

The losses underscore the risks of treating crypto as a treasury management strategy rather than a speculative investment. TMTG isn't throwing in the towel, however, and is instead pivoting towards enterprise software with its Truth API service.

Truth API promises faster access to President Donald Trump's social media posts for financial institutions, media companies, and political organizations willing to pay premium prices. The company has already signed over 10 customer agreements, but it remains to be seen whether this will translate into meaningful revenue or just pilot programs that never scale.
