Tokenization Goes Wild: From Cows to Farts and Whiskey Barrels
The concept of tokenization has taken on many forms in recent times, from livestock to luxury items. In Brazil, farmers have been able to use cows as collateral for loans by tokenizing them on a blockchain. This has raised questions about what can be tokenized and how it can be used.
BlackRock's Larry Fink predicted that every asset will eventually be tokenized. One example of this is when filmmaker Alex Ramírez-Mallis recorded his farts and minted each one as an NFT, selling them for 0.05 ETH (about $85 at the time).
Other unusual items to be tokenized include whiskey barrels, which can appreciate in value over time, and racehorses, where investors can buy a stake in an animal and share in any prize money or future sale proceeds.
