Tokenized Equities Boom Hits $9 Billion Amid After-Hours Trading Surge
The market for tokenized equities has seen significant growth in recent months, reaching $9 billion in July. This increase in trading volume is largely due to the rising trend of after-hours trading. According to available data, off-hour trades account for 55% of Jupiter's total traded volume using its tokenized equity product.
The growth in tokenized equities can be attributed to the convenience and flexibility offered by on-chain markets. Investors are increasingly preferring to maintain their stock holdings outside traditional market hours. This shift is evident in the surge in trading volumes, which rose from $1 billion in January to $3.6 billion in May before reaching $9 billion in July.
Jupiter's routed volume has also seen a significant increase, rising 95% quarter-over-quarter. This indicates that activity is spreading through supporting trading infrastructure. The growth in tokenization has become a meaningful alternative trading channel, with the volume of equity trading via tokens increasing by 207% over QOQ.
