Tokenized Equities Hit Record $3.57B Daily Volume Amid SEC Policy Shift
Tokenized equities reached an all-time high of $3.57 billion in daily trading volume on May 19, according to data from The Block.
This milestone marks a significant increase from earlier trends and comes as the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) shifts its policy stance towards tokenized securities.
The bulk of activity was concentrated on two platforms: Binance, the world's largest centralized crypto exchange, and Hyperliquid, the on-chain derivatives venue. Other notable contributors to this growth include Kraken's xStocks, Ondo, and Bitget.
This shift in SEC policy is seen as a significant boost to momentum in tokenized equities, with organizations such as the DTCC and NYSE already working on infrastructure to support on-chain equities.
