Tokenized Equities See Rapid Growth on Blockchain Platforms
Tokenized equities are experiencing significant growth on blockchain platforms, according to a recent report from CoinShares. The report notes that tokenized equities have seen the fastest growth in terms of holder count, outpacing institutional products over the past year.
The growth can be attributed to increased access and lower minimum investment sizes, which has admitted a broader set of investors. This is evident in the average wallet balance, where products issued through xStocks show balances consistent with broad retail participation.
In contrast, institutional capital tends to concentrate in collateral that pays, with on-chain yields ranging from 3.2% to 5.5%. Investors prefer collateral that earns while supporting borrowing, which is why deposits cluster in yield-bearing assets on established venues such as Aave and Morpho.
