Tokenized Equity Market Surges to $3 Billion Weekly Volume
The tokenized equity market experienced significant growth in August, reaching a weekly spot volume of approximately $3 billion across major chains such as Robinhood Chain, BNB Chain, and Solana. This surge in activity marks an acceleration from previous years, with on-chain total value locked (TVL) across tokenized-stock protocols climbing above $110 million.
While this growth is impressive, it's worth noting that only about 5% of the tokenized equity market is currently being used for on-chain finance. Trading accounts for most of the activity in tokenized equities, with a limited share utilized for lending, collateral, and other financial applications.
Kamino, Jupiter, and Raydium are notable examples of protocols that have seen significant growth on Solana, while PancakeSwap has recorded high growth on BNB Chain. Uniswap has also contributed to the increase in activity through its presence on Robinhood Chain and Ethereum.
