Tokenized QQQ Tracker Drives July Volume Surge
In July, tokenized stock trading volume surged by 288%, nearly quadrupling from the previous month. However, one product, the tokenized QQQ tracker (QQQB), accounted for a significant majority of this growth on decentralized secondary markets.
Robinhood Chain's launch of tokenized equity trading in Q2 2026, which subsidizes gas fees entirely through its Arbitrum-based rollup, has been gaining attention. The company aims to eliminate the friction that previously hindered earlier tokenized stock experiments by making trading, clearing, and settlement happen in minutes instead of the current T+1 cycle.
The gas subsidy is set to expire around the end of September, which will determine whether demand for tokenized equities persists even when trading costs become visible. Traditional exchanges are approaching this market from a different angle, offering stock perpetual futures that provide 24/7 price exposure without requiring actual equity ownership.
