Tokenized Stocks Boom to $2.8 Billion on Institutional Wave
The tokenized stock market has surged to $2.8 billion in just over a year, driven by institutional adoption and the appeal of blockchain-based trading.
At the start of 2025, the total market capitalization of tokenized stocks was estimated in the hundreds of millions. By March 2026, that figure crossed the $1 billion threshold, reaching $2.8 billion a few months later.
Ethereum leads the way with a 49% share of the tokenized stock market, followed by Solana at 23% and BNB Chain at 22%. These three networks account for about 94% of the total market capitalization, highlighting the concentration of liquidity and developer activity in a few key ecosystems.
The growth is driven by institutional interest, with several asset managers and fintech platforms launching tokenized versions of popular stocks. This enables global investors to bypass traditional brokerage barriers and trade these assets on decentralized exchanges.
