Tokenized Stocks Market Surges Past $3 Billion
The tokenized stocks market has experienced significant growth in recent times, with the SECZ token leading the gains. This token represents ownership in Securitize Corp., and its onchain market cap increased by $29.2 million in a single move.
SECZ's jump is a clear indication that tokenized equity is starting to behave like a real market rather than a niche experiment. The token has been steadily gaining traction, with its initial onchain value of around $270.6 million decreasing to $165.6 million before the recent surge.
The rapid expansion of the tokenized stocks market is evident in its growth from under $20 million in late 2024 to an all-time high of $3.1 billion recently. This sector has been powered primarily by activity on BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Solana, with Solana playing a particularly prominent role in SECZ's tokenization architecture.
Securitize Corp.'s decision to tokenize its own shares has been a key factor in the growth of this market. The company went public on the NYSE through a $400 million SPAC merger with Cantor Equity Partners II and concurrently tokenized between $266 million and $295 million of its common stock across Solana and Avalanche.
