Tokyo Web3 Conference Draws Record Crowd Amid Yen Stablecoin Focus

The WebX 2026 conference concluded its fourth edition in Tokyo, Japan, with over 13,000 attendees from more than 90 countries. The event featured discussions on yen stablecoins, tokenization adoption by megabanks, and growing institutional confidence across the broader industry.

Key policymakers, regulators, institutional leaders, and technology founders led the panels and keynote sessions, including Prime Minister of Japan Sanae Takaichi, Minister of Finance Katayama Satsuki, and Chairman of Bitmine Tom Lee. Other notable speakers included John D'Agostino, Head of Strategy at Coinbase, and Nischint Sanghavi, Head of Digital Currencies, Asia Pacific at Visa.

The conference also featured interactive sessions on stablecoins, artificial intelligence, tokenization, and digital infrastructure across three stages, the CRYL Stage, Binance Stage, and Limitless Stage. Attendees had access to hands-on workshops, an exhibition area, and cultural activities such as a traditional Japanese tea ceremony featuring matcha.
