Tom Lee Sees Rally Potential in Fears of September Market Crash
Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat, is betting against the typical September market crash. According to him, the fear of a downturn could trigger a rally instead, with Bitcoin potentially reaching $150,000.
In an interview with CNBC, Lee noted that historically, stock markets have hit their lows on or around September 2nd in midterm election years. This year's situation is more complex due to hawkish Fed comments and rising inflation expectations.
Lee still expects a correction but has moved his target from the typical August-September timeframe to after the September 15th Federal Reserve meeting. He believes that if policymakers neither hike nor cut interest rates, the market could rally strongly.
