TON Mini-Apps Reach 100M Monthly Active Users on Telegram
The TON Foundation has announced that its Telegram Web3 mini-apps have surpassed 100 million monthly active users, marking a significant milestone for the project.
This number represents a major distribution achievement for the TON ecosystem, which has been built on top of the Telegram platform. The 100 million MAU figure includes off-chain bot interactions, app sessions, and wallet-adjacent activity, but it's essential to note that it doesn't solely represent on-chain TON wallet transactions.
The TON network benefits from having access to a massive messaging platform where users already spend time, setting it apart from other crypto networks. The integration with Telegram enables seamless user onboarding and provides a unique advantage in terms of distribution and adoption.
The mini-app category is broad, encompassing games, rewards, bots, payments, trading, social features, or wallet interactions. As such, the 100 million MAU number should not be solely equated with pure on-chain financial activity. However, it does demonstrate that Telegram-based Web3 apps are reaching a substantial user base.
