Toobit Shines in CoinGecko Security Report, Highlighting Robust Framework
Global cryptocurrency exchange Toobit has been featured in CoinGecko's 2026 State of Crypto Security Report, which examines security practices among centralized exchanges. The report highlights Toobit's Bee-Safe security framework, cold wallet custody, and its Shield Fund.
The Bee-Safe framework combines account, asset, and infrastructure protections. Account safeguards include two-factor authentication, anti-phishing verification, withdrawal address allowlisting, and security controls for newly added addresses. More than 90% of assets held on the exchange are stored in offline multi-signature cold wallets.
Toobit also maintains 1:1+ Proof of Reserves, with BTC, ETH, USDT, and USDC reserve ratios above 100%. Traders can independently verify that their balances are included in the exchange's reserves through Merkle-tree verification. Additionally, Toobit has a Shield Fund, launched in October 2025, to cover eligible losses resulting from technical or security incidents originating from the exchange.
CoinGecko recorded $3.63 billion in losses across 245 security incidents between January 2025 and July 2026, with the 10 largest incidents accounting for more than 72% of total losses. TRM Labs separately recorded 207 hacks in the first half of 2026, the highest number it has observed in a six-month period.
