A tourist in Playa del Inglés had his cryptocurrency funds stolen after being approached by two young men who snatched his mobile phone and kicked him. The victim, who was at a shopping and nightlife center on December 31st, accessed his laptop to block the phone's access and discovered that 33,000 USDT had been transferred from his account.

An investigation led by the National Police found that the stolen funds were laundered through various cryptocurrency exchange platforms and converted into euros. The investigators detected numerous subsequent payments made in food, leisure, and travel establishments in Alicante and Madrid.

The police also discovered an organized group specializing in stealing cryptocurrencies from tourists in various Spanish tourist areas, including Valencia, Malaga, Playa del Inglés, and the south of Tenerife. The members of this group allegedly resorted to violence in some cases and used substances added to victims' drinks in others.
