TradFi Perps Surge to 28% Market Share Amid Crypto Futures Growth
TradFi perpetuals (perps) have seen significant growth in trading volumes this year. According to Binance Research, their volumes increased from $80B in January to $691B in July, a tenfold increase. This represents about 28% of the total crypto futures volume across top exchanges.
The growth has been driven by two factors: capital migration and hedging demand. Analysts at Binance Research noted that this trend is not just a typical volume cycle, but rather an asset-class migration. This is supported by the broader trend in 2026, which has seen the rise of prediction markets and perpetual futures.
However, tokenized stocks have not seen the same level of growth as TradFi perps. Their volumes increased from $700M to $2.3B over the last seven months, a threefold expansion. Notably, younger investors prefer tokenized assets without leverage, with only 5.9% of their trading volumes allocated to leveraged instruments.
