Traditional Assets Outperform Cryptos as Investors Seek Stability
A study by Taurex found that traditional assets have outperformed cryptocurrencies since 2020, despite volatility in the crypto market. The study tracked the performance of major US and UK stocks, gold, and Dubai real estate from end-2020 to August 12, 2026.
The top-performing stocks were Google, BAE Systems, Apple, Microsoft, Kratos Defence, RTX, Meta, General Dynamics, and Aero Vironment. These companies saw significant gains over the six-year period, with some more than tripling in value.
Google's stock price increased by 290.7% from $87.63 in 2020 to $342.37 in 2026. BAE Systems' stock price surged by 238.4%, from $672.8 to $2,277. Gold also performed well, with a 151% increase in value from $1,769 to $4,442.
The study suggests that investors may be looking beyond cryptocurrencies due to their volatility and the decline of Bitcoin by 30%. The findings are based on data from August 12, 2026, and provide insight into the performance of traditional assets over a six-year period.
