Treasury's $14.5 Billion Injection Sparks Bitcoin and XRP Rally Fears
The U.S. Treasury Department is set to inject $14.5 billion into the financial system through its government debt buyback program, which could potentially trigger a new wave of growth for Bitcoin and XRP.
The program, led by Secretary Scott Bessent, will start on September 7, 2026, with a weekly limit of $14.5 billion and a maximum volume of $16.5 billion per session.
Markets are expecting the Treasury's liquidity injection to have a significant impact on Bitcoin, which is currently trading just below the psychological $80,000 level, as well as XRP, which has seen record institutional inflows with over $1.66 billion in U.S. spot XRP ETFs.
