Binance founder Changpeng Zhao has sounded the alarm over a data breach that could expose customers of Trezor, a hardware wallet provider, to phishing and physical security risks.

The breach affected approximately 13,700 recent Trezor customers, including about 11,700 whose full names, phone numbers, email addresses, and shipping addresses were exposed. This sensitive information could be used to identify individuals as cryptocurrency holders and reveal their physical addresses.

Zhao emphasized that Trezor's systems and private keys were not compromised in the breach, which is a significant relief for users of the hardware wallets. However, he warned that the exposed personal data poses a security risk due to its potential use in phishing attacks or social engineering schemes.
