Trezor Data Breach Exposes Thousands of Customers to Security Risks

Share

A data breach has affected thousands of customers of Trezor, a manufacturer of physical cryptocurrency wallets. The breach, which occurred through one of its shipping providers, exposed personal details such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of 11,742 customers.

The company reported that an additional 1,947 customers had their names, domicile cities, and emails affected by the breach. Those affected include customers in several countries including the US, UK, Sweden, Colombia, Brazil, Italy, and Portugal who received an order between March 10th and August 8th.

Trezor has apologized for the breach and acknowledged the potential risks it poses to its customers. The company's physical wallets are designed to be secure, but recent attacks have targeted wallet holders in an attempt to extort access to their cryptocurrencies.
