Trezor Tackles Blind Signing with Clear Signing
Trezor's latest update addresses one of the most persistent security risks in crypto: blind signing. This feature, called Clear Signing, allows users to see exactly what they're signing on their hardware wallet's screen.
The technology is built on top of the ERC-7730 standard, which uses transaction descriptors to translate smart contract interactions into plain language. When a user initiates a transaction through Trezor Suite or WalletConnect, the device checks whether a descriptor exists for that contract. If it does, the device displays the decoded information: what you're doing, how much you're spending, and where it's going.
The feature is available on most of Trezor's hardware devices, including the Safe 7, Safe 5, Safe 3, and Model T. However, the older Model One is not compatible with Clear Signing. The ERC-7730 standard has seen significant growth since its introduction in May 2026, with a 28% increase in published transaction descriptors between then and July 2026.
