Triple-A's Hot Wallets Compromised, $11.8 Million in Losses
Triple-A, a crypto payments firm based in Singapore, is facing a hot wallet compromise that has resulted in losses of around $11.8 million. According to onchain investigator Specter, new deposits are still being swept into the affected wallets and drained 31 hours after the initial outflows appeared.
The incident began on Friday, with Specter first flagging the drain at 5:18 p.m. ET, putting losses at more than $9.3 million. The attacker had swapped the assets and bridged them to Ethereum, according to PeckShield, which cited Specter's findings.
On Sunday, Specter reported that a further $1.8 million had been taken across the Bitcoin and TRON networks. This brings the total losses to around $11.8 million. The proceeds were pooled at a single Ethereum address, with 5,226.67 ETH worth approximately $9.73 million held there.
Triple-A addressed the reports on Saturday, stating that they are actively investigating the situation and will share a formal update once ready. The company confirmed that customer funds are not impacted by the incident.
