TRM Labs Appoints Singapore Regulator Ziqing Ang as APAC Policy Head
TRM Labs has appointed Ziqing Ang as its new Head of Policy for Asia-Pacific. Ang is a former Monetary Authority of Singapore official with over a decade of experience in regulation, financial markets, and digital assets.
She will work closely with regulators, policymakers, law enforcement agencies, and private institutions across the region to combat illicit financial networks and develop policy responses to emerging threats. Her appointment comes as TRM Labs tracks a significant rise in adjusted crypto crime volume, from around $123 million in 2020 to over $103 billion in 2025.
The company also notes that investment scams, including pig-butchering schemes, accounted for 62% of fraud inflows last year. Generative AI has become increasingly used by criminal groups, with a 40% increase in AI-enabled scam activity recorded by TRM Labs.
