TRON Enters Deflationary Era with Buyback and Burn Programs
TRON has officially entered a deflationary era as its flagship assets adopt buyback and burn programs. JST, SUN, BTT, and WIN are taking protocol revenue to repurchase tokens on the open market, permanently removing them from circulation.
This mechanism is similar to traditional equity buybacks and could support long-term token value. As of July 17, JST has completed its fourth major buyback-and-burn round, removing a cumulative total of 1,711,249,863 JST from circulation, which accounts for 17.29% of its total supply.
SUN.io has also upgraded its buyback mechanism to unlock greater on-chain transparency and will fund it from an expanded range of SUN.io's product suite. The network-wide buybacks are now operational, with WINkLink allocating 100% of its revenue to repurchasing WIN and BitTorrent using the entirety of the revenue generated from its decentralized business to buy back BTT.
The four flagship assets are interlocking, reinforcing each other in a genuine self-compounding business loop. This creates a compounding flywheel effect: as circulating token supply tightens and persistent buyback demand accelerates, a self-reinforcing value loop takes shape, one designed to attract capital regardless of broader market sentiment.
