TRON Leaves Bitcoin in the Dust as Stablecoin Highway Hits Record Highs
TRON outperformed Bitcoin in Q2 2026 as TRX rose 3% while BTC fell 4%. The data comes from a CoinDesk Research report commissioned by Tron, which highlights the network's unique strengths. During the quarter, TRON averaged 3.5 million daily active users and processed approximately 11.8 million daily transactions.
The majority of these transactions, 93%, were peer-to-peer stablecoin transfers, with USDT supply on TRON reaching an all-time high of around $89 billion in Q2. This gave TRON a 28.7% share of the total stablecoin market cap and represented 47% of USDT's total supply across all chains.
On the revenue side, TRON collected $89 million in protocol fees for the quarter, placing it second overall behind Hyperliquid, which booked $199 million. However, DeFi TVL declined slightly to $4.5 billion, with lending and CDP protocols accounting for 93% of that total.
