TRON Quantum Design Sparks Key Recovery Concerns

TRON is working on a quantum-signature design that could leave some wallets unable to replace their keys, even if they can still make payments. The issue arises when the network governance disables the signing scheme that a wallet depends on, leaving it with no other way to recover its keys.

The proposed solution includes a second quantum-resistant signature scheme that can be used for recovery, but only if the surviving keys meet the account's existing owner threshold. This means that even if a wallet has multiple keys, they may not all have the necessary authority to replace the original keys.

Justin Sun, TRON's founder, has stated his goal of making TRON the first quantum-resistant blockchain network. The design is currently in draft form and still requires governance approval before it can be implemented on the mainnet.
