TRON Quantum Migration Raises Concerns Over Account Control
TRON's migration to quantum-resistant signatures has raised concerns about account control. The blockchain network's draft design could leave some accounts unable to replace their payment keys if the governance disables the signing scheme they depend on.
The design includes a possible recovery route through a second quantum-resistant signature scheme, but holders would need the surviving keys to meet the account's existing owner threshold. A backup key authorized only for payments would not have the power to replace the account's keys.
Justin Sun's goal of making TRON the first quantum-resistant blockchain network is behind this migration design. The network will test the new signature schemes on its Nile test network, and each implementation needs separate governance approval before the network accepts their signatures.
