Tron Races to Quantum-Resistant Future Amid Industry Delays
Tron's founder Justin Sun announced that his network will implement quantum-resistant technology by the end of this year. This move is aimed at protecting the Tron network against potential attacks from quantum computers, which could break current cryptographic standards.
Sun emphasized that Tron has spent a year developing quantum-resistant solutions and established a quantum-resistant address system in the first half of the year. The testnet already uses this new system, indicating a proactive approach by the Tron team.
Unlike Bitcoin, which has a highly decentralized ecosystem involving multiple stakeholders, Tron's centralized governance structure allows for faster implementation of protocol changes. However, this also raises questions about decentralization and community input, crucial for long-term trust and security.
