Tron Surpasses 400 Million User Accounts in Record Time
Tron's user base has surpassed 400 million accounts, according to a recent TRON DAO press release. This milestone was achieved in just over 8 years since the network went live on June 25, 2018.
The first 100 million accounts took four whole years to amass, but it only took another 16 months for the next 100 million wallets to be added. The network has processed a staggering number of transactions, with over 15.2 billion processed since its inception and a total volume of transfers nearing $30 trillion.
Tron now handles 51.4% of all circulating USDT in circulation, with a float of $94.2 billion as of this week's data. The network's dominance in low-value transactions is evident, with it representing 52% of the global flow in such transactions. This is largely due to its use for retail payments and cross-border remittances.
Tron's growth has been rapid, with an average of 4.64 million active accounts over the past 30 days. Some August days saw as many as 5 million active accounts, while around 170,000 new addresses join daily. Ethereum still leads in daily activity and DeFi, but Tron's raw account count is now ahead of older networks.
