TRON (TRX) Mounts Resilient Upward Trend Amid Cryptocurrency Market Volatility
TRON (TRX) has demonstrated resilience in the cryptocurrency market over the past five years. Unlike many altcoins, TRX broke free from the boom-and-bust cycle after its 2021 peak. The price of TRX surged to around $0.18 between April and May 2021 but plummeted by over 70% a month later. However, it rebounded above $0.1 and ultimately fell back to around $0.07 by the end of 2021.
TRON continued to show remarkable resilience in 2022 as the entire market entered a bear market. The price of TRX largely traded sideways between $0.05 and $0.08 throughout the year without following other altcoins to extreme new lows. In contrast, many major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) experienced significant declines.
TRX demonstrated strong upward momentum in 2023, climbing from around $0.05 at the beginning of the year to near $0.11 by year-end. The price of TRX continued its upward trend in the second half of 2024, breaking through its 2018 peak of $0.30 in one move and surging to an all-time high of $0.43 by the end of the year.
The success of TRON can be attributed to its robust deflationary burn mechanism. A portion of network fee revenue is regularly burned, achieving net deflation for TRX and reducing the circulating supply. This decrease in supply helps drive up the unit price when demand remains stable or grows.
