Trump Accepts 80% of Bipartisan Crypto Ethics Proposal Ahead of CLARITY Act Vote
U.S. President Donald Trump has accepted roughly 80% of a bipartisan ethics proposal related to cryptocurrency, removing a major obstacle for the upcoming CLARITY Act vote on September 15.
The agreement, negotiated by Republican Sen. Thom Tillis and Democratic Sen. Ruben Gallego, includes stronger restrictions around elected officials' crypto interests and gives state attorneys general an enforcement role alongside federal authorities.
This development comes as a relief for the crypto community, particularly for XRP traders who have been following the CLARITY Act's progress closely.
XRP was trading near $1.36 on September 10, within a 24-hour range of roughly $1.32 to $1.43.
