Trump Admin Stays Committed to Passing Clarity Act in September
The Trump administration remains committed to passing the Clarity Act in September, according to Patrick Witt, Executive Director at President's Council of Advisors for Digital Assets. The crypto bill is expected to enter a full Senate vote in mid-September.
In a recent statement, Witt emphasized that every delay by Democrats has put the US further behind in the digital asset race, jeopardizing its leadership role in global financial markets and weakening national security. He stressed that durable rules can only be provided through legislation, which is more pressing than ever.
Witt also urged Congress to pass the Clarity Act, stating that 'we can't afford to wait forever.' The SEC is set to advance its crypto regulatory framework under the Reg Crypto vision of Chair Paul Atkins, with a meeting scheduled for August 14 to consider new rules for crypto investment contracts.
