Trump Administration Agrees to Stricter Ethics Rules for Crypto-Holding Officials
The Clarity Act faces a crucial Senate vote this Tuesday after President Donald Trump's administration agreed to stricter ethics rules for federal officials with cryptocurrency interests. According to White House adviser Patrick Witt, Republicans accepted around 95% of Democrats' requests during negotiations.
Witt made the announcement at the Solana Policy Institute summit on Monday. The agreement comes as lawmakers seek a more comprehensive framework for regulating cryptocurrencies.
Under the latest deal, Trump could be required to place some investments in blind trusts, while states would gain greater authority to enforce federal ethics rules, Witt said.
