Trump Administration Landslide Contract Sparks No-Bid Deal Criticism
The US Department of Homeland Security awarded a lucrative contract to crypto analytics firm TRM Labs Inc. without putting it up for competitive bidding, sparking controversy and criticism over the Trump administration's no-bid deals.
The $95 million contract is part of the White House's effort to combat cryptocurrency scams targeting Americans, which have surged in recent months.
The Department of Homeland Security agreed to pay TRM Labs Inc. in July for software that traces cryptocurrency movements and manpower to analyze underlying data.
