Trump Administration Remains Committed to Passing Clarity Act in September
The Trump administration remains committed to passing the CLARITY Act in September, according to White House crypto advisor Patrick Witt. The Senate missed its pre-recess window and adjourned without a final vote on the landmark crypto market-structure bill, pushing decisive action to at least September.
Witt emphasized that only legislation can provide lasting rules for the digital asset industry, and that there is a greater need for relevant legislation now more than ever. He stated that the administration's 'door remains open' and pledged to continue negotiating in good faith ahead of the September vote.
The Senate Cloture Motion has set up a key procedural vote for September 15 when the Senate returns from its five-week August recess. The bill has already passed the House and cleared the Senate Banking Committee, but it still needs 60 votes to overcome a filibuster in the full Senate.
