Trump Administration Signals Commitment to Digital Asset Dominance
US President Donald Trump and top financial regulators met with key figures in the cryptocurrency and digital assets industries at the White House on Wednesday. The meeting focused on a major legislative priority for the administration, the CLARITY Act, which aims to establish legal definitions for digital assets and create clear regulatory guidelines.
Cody Carbone, CEO of The Digital Chamber, attended the meeting and stated that 'the main takeaway was that the U.S. is not going to slow down in its objective of becoming the crypto capital of the world.'
The CLARITY Act would provide clarity on regulatory matters, allowing businesses to operate with certainty and giving investors more protections. Carbone noted that if passed, the bill 'will give retail investors, institutional investors more consumer protections, more disclosures.'
The meeting also touched on American innovation and technological leadership, with President Trump emphasizing the need for the US to be an innovator in areas like digital assets, blockchain, and artificial intelligence.
