Trump Agrees to Stricter Ethics Limits for Crypto-Interested Officials
The CLARITY Act is set for a crucial Senate vote on Tuesday after President Donald Trump agreed to stricter ethics limits for federal officials with crypto interests, according to White House adviser Patrick Witt.
Witt, speaking at the Solana Policy Institute summit, stated that Republicans accepted around 95% of Democrats' requests during negotiations. This agreement comes as lawmakers seek a broader framework for cryptocurrency regulation.
Under the latest deal, Trump could be required to place some investments in blind trusts, while states would gain greater authority to enforce federal ethics rules, Witt said.
