Trump-Backed Crypto Firm Ties Up with Restricted Chinese AI Venture
World Liberty Financial, a crypto industry company co-founded by Alex and Zach Witkoff, has entered into a partnership with Hong Kong-based AI venture WorldClaw.
The AI models offered by WorldClaw are developed by companies worldwide, but around half of them originate from mainland Chinese companies restricted by the U.S. government due to national security concerns.
These companies include Alibaba, Baidu, and Z.ai, among others.
World Liberty Financial has been granted a conditional de novo national trust banking charter by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), allowing it to establish a domestic U.S. national trust bank.
The relationship between World Liberty Financial and Chinese companies deemed tied to the Chinese military raises concerns, but the OCC did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
