Trump-Backed Crypto Venture Partners with Chinese AI Platform Despite US Restrictions

Share

The Trump-backed cryptocurrency venture World Liberty Financial has partnered with Hong Kong-based platform WorldClaw to offer access to AI models, including those from Chinese companies that have faced U.S. government restrictions.

The partnership allows users of WorldClaw to pay for access to these AI models using World Liberty's USD1 stablecoin, which is backed by assets such as U.S. government securities.

This has raised concerns about the Trump administration's approach to Chinese technology and potential financial interests involved in the deal.

Seven experts in Chinese technology, trade, and government ethics told Reuters that the relationship raises questions about the administration's approach to Chinese AI and the commercial relationship involving World Liberty.
