Trump-Backed Firm Partners with Chinese AI Platform Amid Security Concerns

Share

World Liberty Financial, backed by US President Donald Trump, has partnered with Hong Kong-based WorldClaw to offer Chinese AI models. The platform allows users to access a range of AI models developed by companies such as Alibaba, Baidu, and Z.ai, which have faced scrutiny from the U.S. government. WorldLiberty's crypto tokens are accepted as payment on the platform.

The Trump family owns 38% of World Liberty and earns revenue from the company's cryptocurrency activities. The report notes that the partnership is not illegal, but experts see a potential contradiction with the Trump administration's stance towards certain Chinese technology firms.

WorldClaw offers models from companies that have been designated as Chinese military companies or are on the U.S. Commerce Department's entity list. These companies include Alibaba and Baidu, which have disputed their designations.
