Trump-Backed Maldives Resort Token Delayed Amid Regional Travel Disruption

Share

World Liberty Financial, the crypto venture associated with the Trump family, has delayed plans to launch a digital token tied to a luxury resort in the Maldives.

The token was originally expected to launch in spring 2026, but the offering has been postponed due to disruption caused by the war involving Iran, which affected regional travel and created uncertainty around the Maldives hospitality market.

The Trump International Hotel & Resort, Maldives is a luxury development being built by DarGlobal in partnership with The Trump Organization. It will feature approximately 100 beach and overwater villas and is currently scheduled for completion in 2030.

World Liberty Financial's strategy to bring real-world assets onto blockchain networks through tokenization was put on hold, but the company has not announced a new launch date for the token.
