Trump-Backed World Liberty Financial Tainted with $100 Million Money Laundering Investment
World Liberty Financial, the cryptocurrency platform founded by President Donald Trump's sons, has been under scrutiny for some time. The company recently received a $100 million investment from Guren 'Bobby' Zhou, a businessman currently under investigation for allegations of money laundering.
Zhou was linked to a failed cryptocurrency start-up and was investigated by British authorities for money laundering. Although he hasn't been formally charged yet, the investigation is ongoing.
The $100 million investment came via a UAE-based firm named Aqua 1, with Zhou emerging as a significant token buyer from World Liberty Financial. The company confirmed the investment in a Medium post, but didn't mention Zhou's name or connection to the company.
