Trump-Backed World Liberty Secures Conditional Bank Charter from Federal Regulator
A federal regulator has granted World Liberty, a company backed by former US President Donald Trump, a conditional bank charter. This development marks a significant step forward for the firm's plans to offer cryptocurrency services.
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) issued the conditional charter on April 10, according to an announcement from World Liberty.
This decision comes after years of efforts by the company to secure a banking license. The OCC has been reviewing World Liberty's application since at least 2022.
