Trump Deflects Crypto Concerns with Family Claims

Share

President Donald Trump dismissed concerns over his $1.4 billion cryptocurrency business, claiming he only talks to his children about saying 'I love you', not about business dealings.

Talking to Punchbowl News about a landmark cryptocurrency bill, Trump criticized lawmakers' efforts to include a provision limiting the president's ability to profit from digital assets.

'They want to do a bill, and in the bill, they want me to be different than everybody else,' Trump said. 'I don't mind putting it in a blind trust; I don't run it myself anyway. I let my kids run it.'

The president's sons, Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump, oversee his revocable trust, which includes the family's main crypto company, World Liberty Financial.

Revelations about the Trump family's profits have led Democrats to demand new terms for the Clarity Act, including an ethics provision addressing concerns over Trump's crypto businesses.
