Trump Family's Crypto Grift Bank Gets Federally Charters
Trump's family business has secured a federally chartered bank, World Liberty Financial, thanks to Comptroller of the Currency Jonathan Gould. The bank will issue the stablecoin USD1, which can be used as a bribe vehicle for President Trump. This move is seen as a way for foreign governments to curry favor with the US government by buying hundreds of millions worth of the Trump stablecoin.
The Trump Organization's Executive Vice President Eric Trump was involved in promoting crypto at an event in Dubai, and his brother Donald made $1.4 billion in 2025, with nearly $800 million coming from his stake in World Liberty. The Department of Justice and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission were reined in to minimize oversight.
ABC News described this move as 'unprecedented', but it's clear that the Trump family is using their power for personal gain. White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said there are no conflicts of interest, but this seems obvious given President Trump's alignment of his personal and presidential interests with juicing his bottom line.
It's worth noting that Zach Witkoff, the son of Steve Witkoff, will run Trump's bank, raising questions about potential conflicts of interest. The full application for the bank was not made available to Democrats in Congress, further fueling concerns about lack of transparency and oversight.
