Trump Family's Crypto Venture Embroiled in Billionaire's Fraud Allegations
Billionaire Justin Sun, known for his success in the early days of the crypto industry, has accused President Donald Trump and his family's company World Liberty Financial of engaging in massive fraud.
Sun invested $30 million in World Liberty Financial in late 2024, becoming an advisor to the company. However, he soon realized that the firm's promised products never materialized and its tokens crashed in value, causing investors significant losses.
Sun sued World Liberty Financial in April of this year, alleging fraud and breach of contract. He claimed that he was a victim of the Trump family's schemes and that his name being associated with the project made him regret the investment even more.
In response to Sun's lawsuit, World Liberty Financial sued him for defamation, claiming that he had placed a large bet against their tokens and made 'straw purchases' on behalf of other investors. However, Sun dismissed this suit as an attempt to silence him, stating that he would continue to speak out about the company's improper conduct.
