Trump Greenlights Hyperliquid's Entry into US Market
President Donald Trump announced at a press conference that federal regulators are working to bring decentralized derivatives platform Hyperliquid into the US market. The platform's native token HYPE surged by double digits following the announcement, with related exchange-traded funds (ETFs) also posting significant gains.
The CFTC and SEC are reviewing Hyperliquid's entry into the US market, with both regulatory agencies working together to create a framework for on-chain derivatives markets. The integration of decentralized finance platforms into the US regulatory framework is now being seriously discussed at the federal level.
Hyperliquid operates its own token, HYPE, which is used for network security, transaction fees, and ecosystem functions. According to Hyperliquid's official data, more than $1 billion in annual fees generated from platform trading activity is programmatically allocated to HYPE buybacks.
