Trump Invites Crypto Executives to White House Amid Profit Allegations
US President Donald Trump will host cryptocurrency executives and technology leaders at the White House on Wednesday. The meeting comes as US financial regulators are advancing new frameworks for digital assets, including proposed rules to exempt certain token offerings from securities regulations.
The SEC Chair Paul Atkins, CFTC Chair Mike Selig, and crypto advisor Patrick Witt are expected to attend alongside industry trade group representatives. This follows a recent poll indicating that a majority of Americans believe Trump's family has inappropriately profited from crypto ventures, with over $1.4 billion earned last year.
Trump denied any claims of impropriety, stating he has no day-to-day role in his family business and investments are managed independently. The White House dismissed any suggestions that his policy decisions are influenced by private business interests.
