A new altcoin called GOLD was launched within the Solana ecosystem with the theme 'Trump Digital Gold', claiming to be verified by Donald Trump's account. The token's price skyrocketed, reaching a market capitalization of over $60 million in approximately two hours.
However, the price subsequently declined rapidly, falling from $10 million to around $1.8 million in just one minute. This represents a loss of over 95% in value.
Social media users have raised suspicions about the legitimacy of the token's launch, suggesting that the account may have been hacked. The initial promotional post reportedly reached approximately 400,000 views.
The removal of all content related to GOLD from the account was interpreted as a sign that the account may have been regained by its owners. However, claims emerged that the attack may have been carried out by individuals with Iranian connections.
